अगर 30 सेकेंड पहले इसका पता चल जाता तो शायद टाइटैनिक को बचाया जा सकता था। जहाज के धीरे धीरे डूबने की खबर मिलने के बाद भी संगीतकार आखिरी सांस तक गाना बजाते रहे ताकि कुछ देर बाद मरने वाले लोग अपना आखिरी पल खुशी से बीता सकें। टाइटैनिक पर सबसे ज्यादा डूबने वाले पुरुष इसलिए थे क्योंकि इस कठिन समय में कुछ समझदार निकले और लोगो को कस्ती में बैठाते समय सबसे पहले महिलाओं ओर बच्चो ने इस प्रोटोकॉल का पालन किया। आपको यह भी बतादे की जहाज में सवार 9 कुत्तों में से 2 कुत्तों को जिन्दा बचा लिया गया था। पुरा लोड होने के बाद भी इसका वजन करीब 4 करोड़ 63 लाख 26 हजार था। इतना वजन होने के बाद भी यह 42 किलोमीटर प्रतिघंटा की रफ्तार से दौड़ सकता था। टाइटैनिक पर सवार यात्रियों और कर्मचारियों के लिए 39000 हजार किलो मांस, 40000 हजार अंडे 40 टन आलू 15 से 90 किलो प्याज, 36000 हजार सेब मौजूद थे। जिस जगह टाइटैनिक डूबा था वहा पानी का तपमान करीब 2 डिग्री सेल्सियस था, जिसमे कोई भी मनुष्य 15 मिनट से ज्यादा जिन्दा नहीं रह सकता है। अपने आखिरी समय में टाइटैनिक के बीच से टूट कर दो टुकड़े हो गए थे ये दोनो टुकड़े आज भी समुंद्र में पड़े हैं और इनके बीच की दूरी 600 मीटर है। वैज्ञानिक अभी सही तरीके से नहीं बता पाए कि आखिर जहाज के दो टुकड़े कैसे हुए। 21वी सदी में Millvina Dean टाइटैनिक दुर्घटना से बचने वाली आखिरी जिन्दा इंसान थी ये भी 31 मई 2009 को 97 साल की उम्र में मर गई। यह टाइटैनिक पर सबसे छोटी थी और इसकी उम्र 2 महीने थी।
